It’s a crisp Christmas Eve
day as Catherine (Georgia Jean)
and Brent (Robert Borzych) – a young,
uptight, conservative couple who
work in a law firm together – arrive at Catherine’s
upscale family home. Catherine’s wild and flamboyant
sister Susan (Hilary Schwartz) and her new boyfriend of
the moment Tony (Fabio Sandolo) also arrive for the Holiday
Festivities.
Everyone
looks perfect and festive, but tensions run high and things
don’t quite seem so idyllic in this picture perfect
household. Despite the Christmas cheer, Catherine and
Susan can barely take it as the walk out the door for
one unexpected, last-minute trip to the mall while the
girls’ dates stay behind to watch over the holiday
turkey.
With
the Jenson house all aglow in Christmas lights, Brent
and Tony are left behind. What will happen while they’re
alone together on this Christma Eve twilight? What will
happen when the family returns to them to put the finishing
touches on the Christmas tree? Will Mrs. Jenson add the
special topping to her famous Jell-O deserts as planned
or will she top off the Season with a surprise of her
own? This will definitely be a memorable Christmas for
the entire family.
Sit
back and watch the holiday wrap unravel when what appears
to be
another routine
Christmas for
the Jenson family turns into a scandalous holiday spectacle
no one will ever forget.
”Fruitcake”
is the third short feature of filmmaker Jaymes Thompson.
